This week, we will read Chapter 2 each day and answer the specific questions for that day + see links for going deeper, and questions to consider for practical application.
Day 1:
▲ Make a general summary statement/paraphrase of what you think this chapter is about.
Day 2:
↑ What does this teach me about God?
Day 3:
↓ What does this teach me about man/humanity?
Day 4:
† What does this teach me about Christ (or how does this point me to Christ?
Day 5:
✓How can I apply this to my life?
Questions to consider for application:
How well does my life reflect the attitude of Christ Jesus? (Phil. 2:1-11)
What is one step I can take this week toward more humility?
How can I be a light to someone in darkness this week?
How can I minister to and encourage the Body of Christ?
Day 6/7:
Use the extra day to check cross-references, look up any word definitions you may want to understand better and check study notes and commentaries to see how your interpretation compares to what others have said. Do this only after you have answered the above questions and attempted to interpret with the help of the Holy Spirit. If we rely on study notes and commentaries, we will never learn to deeply engage with the text and “rightly divide” it ourselves.
▲ Make a second summary statement
→ Challenge:
Continue memorizing Philippians 4:4-9
Accountability Questions to Consider:
How have I "laid down my life" for others?
Is there anything I need to surrender to God?

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for all the ways you are working in us to will and to work according to your good purpose. Help us to be more and more willing to submit to the work of your Spirit in and through us as you are transforming us into your likeness! Help us to “adopt the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus” in all our ways. Help us to look to other’s interests and leave selfish ambitions behind. May we hold firm to your word of life and be willing to be poured out for the sake of the gospel. Please help us not to rely on our own strength and to remember to abide in you.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Blessings 🤍
